"Regarding Tucker, I couldn’t be a bigger fan. For context, while I don’t have a lot of experience with contracting work, I have enough to endorse him with confidence. Simply put, Tucker exceeded our expectations. There are a lot of GCs out there that could do the job we contracted Tucker to do, but it’s “the little things” that, in my opinion, allow him to stand apart from the crowd; and all of this was put to the test while navigating the challenges created by the pandemic; which there were quite a few. Tucker checks all the boxes from trustworthy to cost-conscious to creative, but I think what I most appreciated was how communicative, available, and flexible Tucker was throughout our project. Even though I knew he was juggling projects much bigger than ours during our work, he made us feel like we were a priority. This was a big point for us since my wife and I were constantly moving the target by changing the scope and overall just being indecisive. Tucker always made himself available and approached our indecision with patience and understanding. And lastly, it’s important to highlight that the quality of his and his subcontractors’ work is great. We couldn’t be happier with the final product."
It is hard to overstate our level of satisfaction with Mike and Tucker Short and their construction team. We added 1800 sq feet to our house. We did use an independent architect for the designs. Mike and Tucker coordinated everything with our architect in order to execute the project in-scope and on-budget. The only time slips we had were in the early Spring due to all of the rain we had (this delayed our foundation pouring about 6 weeks in total). Over the entire scope of the project, we felt that we were their most important customer, even though we were fully aware that they were managing multiple building projects simultaneously. As they had a rich knowledge base of the construction business, they were able to help us make better decisions and navigate smoothly through the build process. We can sum it up this way: Now that our project is complete, it is genuinely a shame to no longer owe them money and continue working with them daily or weekly. They are so kind, conscientious, meticulous, neat/tidy (yes, a neat and tidy job site every day), and above all honest. When we signed the contract and told him he had his business, Mike’s reply to us was: “You are in good hands.” And he was absolutely correct."
